The Shifting Sands

December is Mother Month for many expats.  The Christmas/New Year period combined with good weather provides an ideal opportunity for family members to visit. My Mum arrived two days before Christmas and, after enjoying Christmas with the kids followed by Christmas lunch with about 50 expats and other visiting mothers at the Hyatt, we set off for Delhi and Agra. Now Agra is a place that everyone should visit once and never go back.  The sights are amazing but the city itself is one of the worst in India.  Fortunately for me there was couple of sights that I didn't see in my last visit and I was determined to tick them off this time. I had one day of work in Delhi and in that time my Mum visited the Red Fort and the main mosque. A week in Mumbai...can seem like a year anywhere else...the pace of life can take you from one unique experience to the next in the blink of an eye.  Recently I had one of those.  The week I describe below was one of those rare and unique times for me. On Monday I went to a lovely yoga class with my friend and very great teacher Prasad.  He took us through the Ancient sequence used by yogis before yoga was asana.  So powerful and I felt its affects all week...I am sure... On Tuesday I was a model in a photo shoot for my friend Milya's new fashion label, Viva Calcutta.  She had a range of clothes made to fit me, deeming me to be of cerrtain proportions suiting her needs!!!  There was make up artists, a lighting man, a photographer, accessories and ten clothing changes.  An amazing experience and, by all accounts, it worked out fine for Milya to be able to use ample shots in her new 'look book'!  I get to keep the clothes and hope to share some pictures too!
